How do I charge the NL1840AW?
The NL1840AW does not have a built-in USB-C port. It is a standard protected button-top 18650, so charge it in a quality 18650 Li-ion charger such as the Nitecore UMS4, UMS2, Ci4 or Ci2. If you want a cell that recharges over its own USB-C port instead, look at the NL1840R.
Will it fit my light?
The NL1840AW is a 69.8mm protected button-top 18650. It is made for the Nitecore UT6, HC60 UHE and HC65 UHE headlamps and the MT2C Pro flashlight, with more compatible models on the way. It also works in other 18650 lights that accept a protected button-top cell of this length. If your light specifies a shorter flat-top cell, measure the battery bay before ordering.
Is the NL1840AW waterproof?
It is rated IPX6, which is strong water resistance against heavy rain, snow and spray rather than full immersion. It is built to keep working when the weather turns on the trail. Keep the terminals dry and clean before charging, and avoid submerging the cell.
