Great tool! This is like my 10th or 11th one I’ve had! Had to replace the last one when the sheath finally failed and the wave ended up at the bottom of the harbor in 30ft of water. However I’m a disappointed that this one didn’t come with a sheath.

How do I carry the Wave Plus?
It ships as the bare tool, sized to ride loose in a pocket or bag. Leatherman's belt sheaths are sold separately, so add one if you prefer it on your hip for a work day.
What bits come with it, and can I add more?
The Wave Plus ships with an eyeglass screwdriver bit for the small driver and a double-ended Phillips #1-2 and 3/16 inch bit for the large driver. It accepts Leatherman's flat double-ended bits, and the Bit Kit, sold separately, adds the common Torx, hex and Phillips sizes.
What happens when the wire cutters wear out?
Both cutters are premium replaceable inserts rather than a machined part of the plier head. When years of cable ties and fencing wire finally dull them, replacement inserts swap in and the tool keeps working.

This has been my EDC for almost a year and I am completely satisfied. I use this tool everyday, mostly the knife and screwdriver. The knives come sharp and stay sharp with use. All of the tools swivel out and firmly lock in place. And are easily taken down to fold. The pliers and cutters are precise, strong, and durable. I love the screwdriver and precision screwdriver Philips and flathead combo, comes in handy. The size of this is perfect for me. Its small and sleek enough on the outside that I can just keep it loose in my pocket without it snagging on anything.The only downside is with the black finish, when first bought, it is COVERED in black residue. After a while of wiping it down and eventual use, it had been cleared away. Other than that, best multi tool i've ever owned. Well done, Leatherman.

This is the go to tool when I have IT people leave my organization. Wonderful set of tools very rugged. I’ve held mine for probably 10 years and I’m still enjoying the heck out of it. I like the black one it just seems to be a little easier to grip it because they’re using a flat finish instead of a gloss which you would get with a chrome version of this. I would recommend buying the tool set it at available and especially the Little ice pick thing that you can replace those are really easy to break, but overall I enjoy this tool and I probably will learn several more.

This I bought for a gift for a young man that’s driving to be a game warden in Texas. He’s very focused and believes in God, considering his age I thought he deserved a multitool such as this Leatherman.I have a leather in myself. I used it when I was in Iraq. They were great and they never let me down when I needed it.
This is such a great multitool. I’ve owned 4-5 at this point and wouldn’t go out into the woods without one EVER. Such a useful, sturdy, dependable tool! Can be a little heavy but I think it’s well worth its weight! I’ve carried one of these consistently for over 30 year and will continue to do so until someone finally makes something better.

I've used my Wave+ for years now and its helped me in lots of activities and situations that if I didn't have it then I would be struggling to get those tasks done. Though pricy its high quality.
The Leatherman wave is probably the most perfect EDC multitool ever created. Combined with a ratchet and bit set, you can do just about anything that you need to do. The black wave looks great but does leave black residue initially on your hands, but that goes away after a little while. The silver is a better choice if you don’t want to have to wipe off the black residue when you get your multitool.

Super awesome product. Every tool in this is high quality. The knives are even sharper than a box cutter I have and the main tool (pliers) feel very nice in hand and are great for a variety of tasks. Very portable and can fit in pocket. The tools are easy to access and lock back into place.

I’ve owned a lot of multi-tools over the years, but I always come back to the Wave+. It’s the perfect middle ground—heavy duty enough to actually fix things around the house or at work, but small enough that it doesn't feel like a boat anchor on your belt.The best part is definitely the outside-accessible blades. Being able to flick the knife open with one hand without unfolding the whole tool is a game changer. The addition of the replaceable wire cutters is a huge win too, because now I don't have to worry about ruining the entire tool if I'm a little too rough on a hard wire.Everything locks solidly, there’s zero "wiggle" in the build quality, and it just feels like a tank. It’s a bit heavy for loose pockets, so I’d recommend using the sheath or buying the separate pocket clip. If you're looking for one tool that does everything well without being overkill, this is the one. Well worth the money.

One of the most versatile and handy tools I own, hands down. I never go anywhere without my Wave. It has pretty much every tool you need for everyday life, and add in a driver bit set and maybe a bit extender, and you have so many tools available. I mean, your not going to be a professional mechanic using this as your primary tool set, but it's handy for so much. The locking feature works great and isn't difficult to unlock, easy with one hand. It's fairly heavy duty, and takes WAY more abuse than I probably should give it. The blades have a good edge, and sharpen quickly, but they are not super high quality, so they do dull faster than some other blades I have. I think the biggest drawback to this tool is the wire cutter. I tried to cut field fencing, and it'll do it, ONCE. After that, this thing won't even cut .032 safety wire. The cutters are replaceable, but I would appreciate a bit tougher cutter blades. Overall, I love this tool, like I said, I literally never go anywhere without it!

I heard a lot about Leatherman and always felt they were expensive for no reason but after seeing how much my cousins went through the ringer for a couple years (mechanic shop, dirtbike riding in the woods, EDC) so I thought id give it a shotI didn’t get the same one he has, I opted for more options that are more suitable for me in construction, some fishing, and messing around everyday. First thing I noticed was that it had some weight to it which I like because in my hands I felt like I can use it like a rented mule! Second was that all accessories were nice, tight, and oiled up multiple locations which seems like a sign to keep those areas oiled. Third was design, look, and build like it sat nicely in my palm while gripping with pliers, cutting away plastic/cardboard, and unscrewing faceplates from outlets. Very impressed with this thing so far and I can see where the money went when I spent!

Does leatherman need a review? Solid, useful and last a very long time. This is my second one of this model. Incidentally it was about $40 more than the first one I purchased 15 years ago. There are some design improvements that I think as impressed with. The wire cutter blade is replaceable.
