The Workhorse Classic
17 tools on the design Leatherman has built since 1983, made for workers and DIY fans alike.
Needlenose and regular pliers backed by premium replaceable wire cutters
420HC plain and serrated knife blades
Saw, awl with thread loop and wood/metal file
Phillips, large and small screwdrivers for daily fixes
Electrical crimper, wire stripper and a 19 cm ruler
190 g and 10.2 cm closed, with lanyard ring
Six finishes, from classic stainless to Cerakote colourways
Built for Hands That Work
PLIERS THAT HOLD UP TO PRESSURE - Needlenose and regular pliers with the bite for seized bolts, fence wire and the pot handle that got too hot.
CUTS, STRIPS AND CRIMPS - Premium wire cutters and hard-wire cutters in the plier head, with a stripper and electrical crimper alongside, so a cable fix ends with a proper crimped joint.
TWO 420HC EDGES - A plain blade for clean cuts and a serrated blade for rope, hose and webbing. Both lock open like a fixed knife.
THE SLOW-DAY SAVERS - Saw for kindling, awl for punching leather and canvas, file for dressing a burred edge, plus can and bottle openers for the break after.
COMFORTABLE IN GLOVES - The handles stay comfortable through gloved work and all-day carry, so the last fix of the shift feels like the first.
WHAT SETS THE REBAR APART FROM ORDINARY MULTI-TOOLS
A 25-Year Warranty
Leatherman stands behind the Rebar for 25 years. A tool you hand down, still under cover.
Made in Portland, Oregon
Built in Leatherman's own US factory from USA and global parts, and it shows in the fit of every joint.
A Design Proven Since 1983
The Rebar carries the classic Leatherman layout forward, every implement exactly where a working hand expects it.
Every Tool Locks
Each implement except the plier head locks into place, so you can lean on a screwdriver or saw with full confidence.
Pick Your Finish, Keep the Toughness
The Rebar comes in classic Stainless Steel, Black and Coyote Tan, plus three Cerakote colourways: Burnt Sienna, Mossy Slate and Heathered Cranberry.
Those colourways are hand-finished coatings chosen to resist wear, corrosion and abrasion, so the tool keeps its looks through real jobs and Singapore humidity alike.
Compact Body, Full-Size Grip
Inspired by Tim Leatherman's original PST design, the tools sit inside the handles and fold out once the Rebar is open, keeping the closed body a smooth, pocketable 10.2 cm.
The handle edges sit flat in the palm, so a hard squeeze on the pliers stays comfortable through a long repair.
ONE TOOL, THREE SHIFTS
Outdoors & Camping
Bent tent poles, guy lines, fish hooks and firewood. One tool covers the whole camp list.
Workshop & Repairs
Loose guards, hose clamps, battery terminals. Three screwdrivers and the file cover the fixes between toolbox sessions.
On the Job
A cable to strip, a lug to crimp, a batten to notch. It rides the belt from first task to knock-off.
Why is the Stainless Steel version priced lower than the colours?
The Stainless Steel Rebar is the classic bare-steel finish. The coloured versions add a coated finish over the same tool, with the Burnt Sienna, Mossy Slate and Heathered Cranberry colourways carrying a hand-applied Cerakote coating, and that extra finishing step is what the price difference reflects. Tools and warranty are identical across all six.
What happens when the wire cutters wear out?
Both the wire cutters and the hard-wire cutters are replaceable inserts rather than a machined part of the plier head. When years of cable ties and fence wire finally dull them, replacement inserts swap in and the tool goes back to work.
Does the Rebar come with a sheath?
The sheath is sold separately. Leatherman makes colour-matched nylon sheaths for the Rebar, so you can pair one with your finish for belt carry, or drop the tool straight in a pocket using the lanyard ring.

I’ve had my Rebar for 12 years. I own the Leather Wave, surge, original, wingman, skeletool and probable others. They’re all over the house…I’m a machinist and carry the Rebar every day and use it all the time. Good complement of tools for the weight. Bigger better pliers then the wave but not quite as big as surge or super tool. All tools lock and are useful however theres a little play with them all when locked unlike the surge which is more solid. It has a way better Phillips screw driver than the stupid short flat bits on the wave and surge that everyone hates. Only thing missing is scissors but you have knives…Some will complain about tightness, if it’s used it will loosen up. Only thing that I do not find very useful is the file, it’s coarse on one side and coarser on the other. (Easily made into something more useful like another screwdriver or knife blade…) It should have a diamond file on one side and the finer of the coarse on the other. Best Leatherman for the money and weight in my opinion. Rebar is in the middle in all the photos. Rock on!
Had to try very very very hard to break something on this. Excellent craftsmanship.Carrying case is nothing special, but I didn’t buy it for that purpose.
The rebar itself is a nice tool. It's very well set up for outdoor uses. The knife, serrated blade and saw make it well suited for hiking, hunting, and bushcraft. The only problem is that it doesn't come w a sheath (or a pocket clip). Why would a leatherman come without a sheath?! I have no idea why.
I am an original purchaser of Leatherman‘s first tool. This tool is a better and more detailed tool. I still have my old Leatherman however, this one has locking mechanisms on the tools and it feels better in my hands. I would recommend this tool to anyone who relies on a good quality multitool.
Still works great after over 5 years of frequent usage. The snips wore off after a few and I managed to snap one of the screw drivers off (I was trying to get out a rusted, over torqued bolt so not exactly the tools fault)
One in Every Car. The Multi-Tool That Actually Gets Used.I keep one of these in every single car I own. That's not a casual endorsement — that's what happens when a tool earns its place over and over again.I lead Outdoor Leadership Training sessions in the field several days a week. My gear gets real use. The Leatherman Rebar has been with me through all of it.Here's what stands out:The saw is the tool I reach for most at OLT and on camping trips. Safe, controlled, effective for working with wood in the field. The fire-starting spine on the back is a genuine survival feature — not a gimmick. The file is aggressive and holds up to heavy use. The pliers are solid. Both blades — straight edge and serrated — are sharp and lock securely. Three flat heads and a chunky Phillips cover almost every screwdriver situation you'll encounter. Bottle opener always comes in handy. The case it comes with is actually practical — not just packaging. It goes with you. This is a step up from the Skeletool. More tools, more capability, chunkier in the hand. The Skeletool is your pocket carry. The Rebar is your car, your pack, your camp kit.At $100 it is worth every cent. Built to last, built for real use, and packed with tools that actually get used.Highly recommended.
All the tools are high quality I use it to fish and I use it as a quick tool to fix things around the house. The knives are great and razor sharp the screw drivers are extremely durable and the saw is very smooth and good at cutting wood
Replaced my Rebar that I lost this week, super handy tool with some heft and solid weight. The first one I bought from Bass Pro Shop and came with a fabric belt pouch for the tool. This one I just got from Amazon DOES NOT come with the belt pouch for some reason. Kinda bummed about that but oh well.
This was a requested 'gift' and the recipient stated they were very pleased with the versatility and quality of this multitool. Avid outdoorsman gift..small tool that does a lot of things
If I didn't have to keep buying these things because i'm too stupid and lose them if it tells you something.I don't like spending money and I keep buying it because it works. It's the only one that does
This Leatherman Rebar feels incredibly sturdy and well-made right out of the box. Every tool locks securely and feels dependable, not flimsy or loose. The replaceable wire cutters are a great feature and add to the sense that this tool is built for long-term use. It’s compact enough to carry easily but still includes everything you’d realistically need. Whether for everyday tasks or more demanding situations, it feels like a multitool you can truly rely on.
I’ve got a few other Leatherman multi-tools but this looked cool and picked it up for $72 at Black Friday. This is my new favorite! It’s a great size and has everything I need….I particularly like the fact that it has a real Phillips screwdriver! None of my other Leathermans do.I just read some other reviews and a few people complained about how stiff it is to open and close the main unit. I mean yes it’s somewhat stiff, I think it makes it feel very secure. Certainly not a negative in my book.
This is a reliable tool, good to carry with pocket knife. If you used to carry single multitool and often use its blade then buy some another with one hand opening blade.
Leatherman overall are good products. I had problems with this one it because it has a few pinch points when folding it. That is why I’m not giving it 5 stars.
Leatherman Rebar Multi tool makes great stuff, I purchased this multi tool for my wifes birthday and she was very pleased and happy to have this to carry on her work belt. I'm fortunate to have a wife that loves living in the forest and spends a lot of time outside.
Ever go somewhere, anywhere, and needed a tool? Well, this multitool is there when you need it. Pliers, screwdriver, cutting, etc.It is excellent and portable.
Love this Rebar Leatherman it's a mini version of the Supertool 300 with all the same tool options only more comfortable and lighter weight to carry on my belt.
One of my favorite brands, I don’t love all the brand advertising by plastering names over everything these days, but I love my Leatherman I wear that branded sheath with pride. It stays on my belt for easy access and I never leave home without it. The quality as always is outstanding, it’s a great upgrade from my grandfathers original Leatherman. At first I wasn’t sure about the locking tools since I never had an issue with them closing on me with my old one plus I thought it’d be a hassle, but it’s never gotten in my way it’s pretty seamless. The size is a bit larger which I like, the old one dug into my hand a little bit the new one allows me to get a better more comfortable grip. All in all I can’t recommend any of Leatherman’s multi-tools enough for anyone that is considering them for EDC or just something to have in a tool kit.
