SEARCH spot focuses the beam to push 1,500 lumens out to 380 metres, picking out a figure across a field or a sign down the road. One light covers the close work and the long look, instead of making you choose.

The central core of the UHi 20 MAX works on its own in SEARCH mode to throw a tight, far-reaching beam, while the full array opens up for flood. NiteLab built the UHi LED around a round emitting surface for high beam intensity and a clean, long-distance beam.
Five everyday levels sit underneath, from a 5-lumen ultralow that runs 57 hours up to a 1,100-lumen high, so the EDC31 handles a quiet read in a tent and a full search down a trail with the same light.

The EDC31 is machined from aluminium with an HA III hard-anodised finish that resists scratches and wear from daily pocket carry, a tool bag or a glovebox.
IP68 sealing handles 2 metres of submersion and the body shrugs off a 2-metre drop, so weather and knocks do not slow it down. An ATR module manages heat so the output stays steady on the high levels.

How do I reach the flood and the search beams?
LUMIN SHIELD® flood and SEARCH spot sit on the tactical tail button, reached by a half press and hold, so the burst and the long throw are one press away. The everyday levels are handled by the side switch.
Is the battery replaceable?
The 3,800mAh cell is built in and recharges over USB-C, which keeps the body slim and sealed to IP68. Charge it from any USB-C source, including a power bank, in about 1 hour 45 minutes.
Why does it dim during long high-output use?
The ATR module eases output back as the body warms during sustained high or burst use, to protect the LED and electronics, then restores it as the light cools. You can re-trigger SEARCH or LUMIN SHIELD® at any time.

I was weary about spending $50 for a non removable battery but, so far the battery has held up very well has not deteriorated, it has a very long battery life in my opinion, what really sold me was the high lumen for its size and of course the very useful manual lock, at first the modes were a bit fidgety but, after not long I got used to them and I can deploy this light switch on the lock and use it very quickly, not too bulky at all and not long so its comfortable to carry in my left pocket, had it for almost a year now and I have been using it almost daily and I carry it 24/7, nothing but good experiences with nitecore, with their ultralight headlamp aswell, its been awesome!

Best EDC light hands down! 10/10. Battery life, run time even on high mode are incomparable to other top brands and models. This EDC light is also pretty small with a sturdy clip, making it easy to fit in your pocket or clip in your back pocket. Seems durable, but has been drop tested on reports. The tail switch takes some learning, but easy to catch on and actually really love it. Hard and long full press = LuminShield; half and long press = spotlight. Lastly, the lock out mode is great, and easy to enable and disable.

Really good EDC. light output @ 3500 is great for evening runs/walks. On Off at end is really handy and lock capability avoids burns. I've got the 5000 also but this is a really good alternative

The box was squashed & torn when received. The flashlight was quite warm when I switched on for first time. Is it supposed to be like that?

This flashlight is a perfect EDC tool. I carry it nightly on dog walks and use the brightness range. I love the USB-C charging and mechanical switch to turn off and simultaneously lock the flashlight. The button pressures take a couple minutes to learn and understand, but it's clear and bright sailing after that. Putting the beam on max for a couple of seconds on a cold night will heat up your hands in a pinch.
Good light but gets too hot too fast on highest
Great flashlight. I own multiple Nitecore flashlights. My only complaint with this one is with the button. It is pretty sensitive and doesn't always perform the right function for turning on or off the light.
SO BRIGHT!!! I love this light!! The size:brightness ratio is crazy. It definitely gets hot, esp on super bright, actually, I accidentally burned a hole through my gym shorts (whoops). Getting used to the light took me a little bit of time, basically give it a quick press and release to turn it on and then you can press through to set the different brightness levels. Also a long press puts it into super bright mode. This thing is wild, compact and bright as all get out, I love it!!
