Packed for the commute, sized for a short trip.
Twenty-four litres is the sweet spot between a slim laptop bag and a weekend duffel. On a weekday it swallows a laptop, a charger, lunch and a jacket with room left over. On a Friday night it takes a change of clothes and toiletries for one or two days away.
The layout keeps those jobs separate: a large main compartment for the bulk, a top compartment for the small stuff, dual stretch side pockets on the outside, and a front cord and webbing for whatever the day adds.

A main compartment that opens flat, or from either side.
Four zippers run the U-shaped opening, so you reach in from the left or the right for something near the top, or lay the whole compartment open 180° like a suitcase to pack it properly on the bed or the hotel floor.
Inside, a suspended compartment holds a 15" laptop, books and large document folders clear of the base, two front mesh pockets sort ID cards and documents, and dual interior side pockets take a water bottle, an umbrella or a power bank. A large hook-and-loop panel accepts modular inserts and accessories.

The top compartment is where your day lives.
Pens, cards, cables and earbuds ride up top in their own compartments, so a swipe of the two-way zipper puts them in your hand on the platform or at the gate. Open it from whichever side is closer.
The outside carries a hook-and-loop panel sized for morale patches of various shapes, so the pack wears your name, a flag or a reflective patch.

Side pockets that stretch around a bottle or a tripod.
Both side pockets stretch to take a water bottle, an umbrella, trekking poles or a tripod, and the adjustable compression straps cinch them tight so a tall item stays put on a jog for the bus.
A panel on the outside of each pocket takes an optional hook-and-loop handle, giving you an easier grip on whatever is riding in there.

Build it out for the trip, strip it back for the office.
The front bungee cord holds a jacket or windbreaker on the outside. A hook-and-loop MOLLE panel takes single-column and four-column pouches, and attachment points on the shoulder straps mount a small pouch or an action camera.
Underneath, MOLLE webbing carries a bottom pouch, a sleeping bag or a sleeping mat, and a 1.5" hip belt interface accepts a waist belt for a heavier load. Removable compression straps secure the side pockets or compress the pack when it is running light. Pouches, belts and modules shown are sold separately.

A back panel built for a humid walk to the office.
The 3D carrying system pairs 8mm EVA foam with breathable mesh and padded shoulder straps, so a full pack sits soft against your back and the straps spread the load across your shoulders.
The back panel is split into four zones with a cross-shaped airflow channel between them, moving air across your spine and cutting the heat that builds up on a long walk in the afternoon sun.

Stands up on its own, even empty.
A 3mm (0.12") fibreglass frame is built into the back panel. It holds the pack upright on the floor beside your desk and keeps the shape square when it is half full, so the laptop stays flat and the opening stays easy to pack.
Under a heavy load the frame carries the structure, and the pack keeps a clean line on your back rather than sagging into it.

Tough fabric across the whole body.
The entire pack body is CORDURA® 500D nylon, soft and light in the hand yet rated for abrasion and tear resistance. Nitecore's own lab testing puts its durability at up to 3× standard polyester and up to 10× canvas, so the corners hold up to years of being dropped under train seats and scraped along walls.
The fabric is water repellent and quick drying, so a passing shower on the walk home beads off the surface and the pack is dry again by the time you unpack.

Travel-ready, from the check-in queue to the hotel.
A luggage strap slides over a suitcase handle so the pack rides on your roller through the airport and your shoulders get the break. Quick-release buckles on the shoulder straps let you detach them in a second to hand the pack through security or stow it flat.
An adjustable sternum strap pulls the shoulder straps in for a secure, stable carry when you are moving fast with a full load.

Details you notice on the hundredth day.
Colour-coded zipper pulls tell the top compartment from the main one by feel, and a retention design on the main compartment secures the pulls so the bag stays shut on a crowded train.
The zips are YKK for smooth running over the long haul, and the buckles are UTX, light, secure and reliable through daily clipping and unclipping.
WHY THE BP24 OVER AN ORDINARY DAY PACK
Both compartments open from the left or the right, whichever side is closer, where a single top-loader means unpacking from the top to find anything.
Attachment panels front and bottom, strap mounting points and a hip belt interface add carry as the trip demands. A plain day pack is the size it is.
A fibreglass frame keeps the pack square and upright whether it is empty or loaded, where a soft bag slumps and crushes what is inside.
A fabric rated for abrasion and tear resistance, YKK zippers and UTX buckles: the wear points that decide how many years a pack lasts are the ones built up here.
ONE PACK, FOUR KINDS OF DAY
Laptop suspended and safe, cards and cables up top, a bottle on the side, and a back panel that stays cool on the walk to the MRT.
Opens flat to pack for one or two nights, slides over a suitcase handle, and the shoulder straps unclip for security and overhead bins.
MOLLE panels and bottom webbing take pouches and kit, patch panels take your identifiers, and the hip belt interface shares a heavy load.
Trekking poles cinched in the side pockets, a windbreaker strapped on the front, a sleeping mat on the bottom webbing, and quick-drying fabric for the showers.

It is water repellent, not waterproof. The CORDURA® 500D fabric beads off light rain and splashes on a wet commute and dries quickly afterwards. It is a fabric rating rather than a sealed construction, so for a tropical downpour or a river crossing, keep electronics in a dry pouch inside and head for cover.
The pack ships on its own. The 1.5" hip belt interface, the MOLLE panels and the shoulder strap attachment points are all built in, and the belts, pouches and action cameras shown on the official images are optional extras sold separately.
Brush off dry dirt, wipe the fabric with a damp cloth and mild soap, and let it air dry fully before packing it again. The quick-drying nylon makes that a short wait. Keep the YKK zippers clear of sand and grit so they keep running smoothly.
