"Will this actually stop someone from opening it?"
Yes. When locked, the gate is held by a steel deadbolt. You can't squeeze it, pry it, or tug it open. The only way in is the key.

"What if someone tries to cut it?"
It's 7075-T6 aircraft aluminum — the same alloy they build airframes from. A determined thief with bolt cutters could get through, the same way they could with any portable lock. It's a deterrent against grab-and-go theft, not a vault.

"What if I lose the key?"
You won't — Matador sends two with every BetaLock. Keep one on your keyring, one in your luggage. If you lose both, Matador's free repair program will help.

"Can I use it on a checked bag through TSA?"
It's not TSA-approved (no master key). For checked-bag travel, use a TSA-approved padlock. For everything else — hostels, lockers, café chairs, day bags — this is the move.

"What if it breaks?"
Matador repairs everything — in warranty or out. They fix it and send it back.

"How much does it actually weigh?"
