The HA29 UHE adapts to the conditions in front of you, not the other way round.
In high-risk environments where rock textures and ice fractures need to read accurately, CRI 98 gives you the clearest visual perception. Critical for placing protection, judging anchor quality, and reading mountain weather signs.
In medium-risk technical terrain like steep slopes and snow-covered trails, CRI 85 balances accuracy with the brighter, more efficient output you need to cover ground.
In low-risk, predictable conditions like camp, easy trails, and urban night running, CRI 73 delivers the brightest and longest-running light from the same headlamp body.

Most lithium batteries are unusable or have lost 90% of their capacity by -40°C. The included battery pack holds at least 80% of its 2,500mAh capacity at the same temperature, verified by NITECORE Lab.
That means you keep your headlamp working when summit-day temperatures collapse, when you're crossing a glacier before sunrise, or when you've stopped moving and the cold starts to bite.
At ambient temperatures between -40°C and -30°C, the HIGH setting maintains approximately 400 lumens. Plenty of light to keep moving, route-find, and stay safe.
Note: TURBO is unavailable when the ambient temperature drops to -10°C or below. This is by design to protect the battery and electronics.
Stable output at 10,000m altitude.
The included battery pack was reliability-tested at 11.6 kPa low pressure, simulating an altitude of approximately 15,000m, well above the rated 10,000m use ceiling.
The pay-off: stable power delivery on every Earth summit. Climbers on Everest, Cho Oyu, K2, or any 8000-metre peak get the same light output as climbers at base camp. No lumen drop as the air thins.

IPX6 WITH THE MBC10 BATTERY CASE
When running on the HLB1500 or AAA cells through the MBC10 case, the rating shifts to IPX6 (powerful water jets from any direction). Still field-rugged, just not submersible.

HLB1500 LI-ION PACK (SOLD SEPARATELY)
1,500mAh, 3.9V. Lighter and more compact, fits in the included MBC10 battery case. USB-C rechargeable. A solid backup pack or weight-saver for shorter outings.
3 X AAA BATTERIES (VIA MBC10 CASE)
Alkaline or rechargeable Ni-MH. Available in any village store, mountain hut, gas station, or convenience shop on Earth. Your fallback when rechargeable options run dry on a long expedition.

The included battery pack delivers 17 hours 30 minutes of continuous illumination at the 100-lumen LOW setting. That covers the full 14-hour twilight-to-dawn window with a margin of more than 3 hours.
For conservation: Ultralow gives you 8 lumens for 122 hours straight. Five days of around-the-clock low-level light for tent reading, navigating to the toilet at 2am, or basic camp tasks without disturbing your tent-mate.
For high-output work: 4h 15min on HIGH (600 lumens, 119m throw) or 8h 45min on MID (300 lumens, 82m throw). Plan your light budget the same way you plan your food and water.

Magnesium alloy heat sink and active air ducts.
High-output LEDs produce real heat. How a headlamp handles that heat determines whether your 1,200-lumen rating is a brief burst or a sustained output.
The HA29 UHE uses a die-cast magnesium alloy heat sink that's both lighter and more thermally conductive than aluminium. Heat moves from the LED matrix into the heat sink and out through air ducts between the lamp head and the detachable battery case.
Practical result: output stays stable for longer on TURBO and HIGH, and the body stays comfortable on your forehead instead of running hot. Thermal protection kicks in only when truly needed, keeping the LEDs and battery healthy over the long haul.
Dual-button interface designed for gloves and one-handed use.
Two buttons, shaped and textured differently so you can tell them apart by feel. MODE switches colour temperature; the Power button handles on/off and brightness levels.
POWER INDICATION
A short press of MODE while the light is off lights up four indicators showing remaining capacity: 100%, 75%, 50%, or 25%. Know exactly where you stand three hours into a night descent.
LOCKOUT MODE
Long-press both buttons for 2 seconds and the headlamp flashes 3 times to confirm lockout. Drop it in your pack with confidence. Long-press both buttons again to unlock. Lockout automatically clears 15 seconds after a battery swap.

ULTRALOW (8 LUMENS, 122 HOURS)
Eye-friendly and just enough to see by. Read in the tent without waking your tent-mate. Move around camp without obliterating your dark-adapted night vision. Five days of continuous runtime if you keep it on the whole time.
RED HIGH (15 LUMENS, 29 HOURS) AND RED LOW (5 LUMENS, 90 HOURS)
Preserves your eyes' dark adaptation, so when you switch back to white light you're not blinded by your own torch. Also reduces moth and mosquito attraction during overnight stops near water or in summer climates.

Why does the IP rating change depending on which battery I use?
The HLB2500 mounts directly into the body with a sealed interface, giving the IPX8 submersion rating. The MBC10 battery case (housing the HLB1500 or 3 x AAA) is rated IPX6, so the overall rating drops to IPX6 in those configurations.
Both handle heavy rain, snow, and stream splashes. Only the IPX8 configuration is rated for continuous submersion.
Can I activate TURBO mode with AAA batteries?
No. TURBO requires the higher discharge rate of the Li-ion packs (1,200 lumens with HLB2500, 800 lumens with HLB1500). Running on 3 x AAA, the maximum output is HIGH at 600 lumens. TURBO also locks out at ambient temperatures of -10°C and below when using the HLB2500, to protect the cell.
How long does the HLB2500 hold its charge in storage?
Approximately 12 months at full charge. For long-term storage between trips, charge the pack fully before putting it away and top up every 6 to 12 months. Lithium cells degrade faster when stored fully discharged.
