P20i - 1800 lumens
It was my 1st high end light, and I did not really got any opportunity to use it. But I have test it out in the night, it was great. Would love to try smashing some windshields to see if the bezel works.
Never had a kick ass torch - now never gonna leave home without this 1
Item was received well pack. But missing items was not indicate to buyer due to no stocks and buyer had to write in to enquire
I have been using the P20i for 2 weeks. I especially loved the tail cap switches and the one hand operation in changing the brightness and mode on this flashlight, Holding this beast in your hand really gives you the confident to explore the darkest area you can find. I will highly recommend this light to anyone for any purpose.
I'm into mountain hiking and camping. The P20i don't disappoint. Great construction and excellent battery life, it works great for lighting up things far away. As advertised, the buttons are easy to use and the various items included in the package are useful. Being able to use USB-C for charging really speeds up the charging as we can use 65 - 120W mobile phone chargers to charge the P20i. Just remember P20i is not made for flood-filling, it's a spotlight.
Awesome and nearly perfect tactical, duty light! The UI is extremely simple, and the 3 levels are perfect for it's role. The light has excellent throw with plenty of spill and runtimes are very good too.
My first Nitecore torchlight for EDC:
Holding the P20i barehanded with my thumb on the tail switch in air con room environment, I can feel the heat building up real fast on my little finger the moment I switched it on. At 1 minute and 10 seconds the tube gets burning hot and so unbearable that I have to turn it off instantly, leaves me wondering what is the auto cut off limit.
If I gift it to a friend for night hunting (not in SG of course!) can the P20i run continuously at 1800 lumen for even 30min when it's advertised to run for 2h30min at 5000mAh? Since it already gets so hot when running only for 1min10sec when will it auto switch over to 280 lumen? Kind of a bummer if this is the case (yeah I am new to high lumen torchlight).
For this I think maybe the P20i needs a memory mode, or it is simply just better for law enforcement use only since it is design to default switch on at 1800 lumen. Other than the heat issue and lack of memory mode this is a solid product.
Satisfied with it !! Weight and length is just right. Switching between modes is very easy. However, what im afraid will be accidental trigger of the ok switch. Apart from that, it get’s the job done! One-handed operation.
I used it to do a night hike from MacRitchie Reservoir to Rifle Range Road. Here is my review.
The stated beam distance is never achievable because of the high humidity and high water moisture in the forest. The light output will be reduced by the water moisture in the air. This will apply to all torch light you used.
1) At low setting, the beam distance is good to 10 meters. Good for seeing what is right ahead, which step to take. At this setting, the flood is enough to cover 2 to 3 persons.
2) At mid setting, the beam distance is good to 30 meters. Good for seeing what is further ahead and plan which way to make. At this setting, the flood is enough to cover 3 to 4 persons.
3) At high setting, the beam goes up to about 100 meters. This is where the P20i makes the difference with other torches. Being able to throw the light that far, you will able to see what is right far ahead of you. A wild boar? Is that a human ahead? Is it better to stop or U-turn?
The P20i feels solid and comfortable to grip. The IP rating and drop specifications give you confidence that it will not fail. The holster makes it easy to carry and fast removal.
Overall review, great torch light. Provides confidence when you are able to beam the light that far when doing night trail hiking. And especially you are taking the lead for the group.
Do note, high humidity and high water moisture in the air will affect all torch light output beam distance.
